![]() ![]() You can do this in the Customize > Units Setup menu. If you know that objects were built in a metric scale in Lightwave (or whatever), then ideally you want to change your 3ds Max Display and/or System Units to reflect your working scale. One problem whenever you're importing 3D objects from another program into Max is getting their various scales set correctly. Thanks for your question, and I'm sorry you're having these issues! If you need any more info I'll be here all night ~ Any help is greatly appreciated, I've searched, I'm just out of my element. I don't know if there's a better way to export from Lightwave. I'm using max 2018 and vray 3.6 - I've had soo many inconsistencies just getting these textures to show up on the model. I draw a box next to my item, drop that multi material texture on it and it comes in perfectly - it's showing up at what I'd presume would be 4"w tiled - Am I overthinking this what is happening? I draw a box next to the item I've brought in and it measures correct there - but if my whole world is wrong, I don't even know how to check - like the model seems to be at scale coming out of LW? The FBX models come in very very nice, but I go to texture them using a multi-material and standard vray material and the scale is completely blown out of proportion - I'm using a texture that's 50" at 72pi and it only starts looking normal at like 5" the vray material editor - My system units are 1 unit = 1centimeter - but my display unit scale is decimal inches. ![]() ![]() Hey everyone, thank you for taking the time to read - I'm at my wits end on this, I feel like such an idiot, I have a background in Lightwave, I'm coming over to Max, with it I'm bringing models. ![]()
